What is murmur Pro?
A one-time purchase that supports murmur's development. The free app is complete and stays complete: dictation, formatting, the journey, every provider. Pro adds conveniences on top and a supporter mark, and it funds the work. Belts and cosmetics are earned by practice and are never for sale.
What does Pro include?
- Provider profiles: save whole provider setups (endpoint and models; the key ring supplies each provider's saved key automatically) under names and switch between them in one click.
- Early access: new conveniences unlock for Pro first in official builds, then go free for everyone after a window. The source is public the entire time.
- Priority support and, if you like, your name in SUPPORTERS.md.
What is a founding member?
Everyone who buys Pro during the founders window (the FOUNDERS code era) is a founding member forever. Founding members keep a permanent ten percent discount on every future paid product, including the cloud subscription and any paid iOS offering, and their license shows the founding member mark in settings.
How do license keys work?
Your key is a cryptographic signature that murmur verifies on your machine, offline. There is no licensing server, no account, and no phone-home: if murmur's servers vanished tomorrow, your key would keep working forever. Activate it under Settings, murmur Pro by pasting the key and clicking Activate.
How do I deactivate Pro, and can I come back without my key?
Yes. Click Deactivate under Settings, murmur Pro: the app switches to the free experience, and your key stays parked on this machine. Reactivate brings everything back in one click, no key hunting. This is handy for previewing what free users see, or for troubleshooting.
Forget key is different: it deletes the key from this machine entirely, active or parked. Use it when you are selling or handing off the computer. After Forget key, activating again means pasting your original key (see the lost-key answer below if you no longer have it).
I lost my key. What do I do?
Email support with your order id or receipt and a fresh key is issued. Keys are free to reissue for the same purchase.
